    Hi

I am trying to install a 2wire pcmcia wireless card p/n 019461/D without the cd all I could find on there website was the drivers ( i think )
I insert the card and the laptop dell windows xp pro beeps once then 3 times fast. the install new hardware wizard never pops up and I have tried to manually point to the driver folder downloaded from the web site and I have ran the install new hardware wizard i have gone into device manager and tried to update driver using the internet and nothing works. Why doesnt the install new hardware wizard pop up and why does the system beep 3 times? are there any solutions? please let me know thanks

    eric

I found drivers and an installation how-to guide at this link. Maybe it will help. If you could provide us the exact model of the Dell laptop, that would be helpful too. I'm not sure about the 3 beeps.... have you successfully used the card in a different PC? Do you know for sure that card is 100% functional?

very little info to go on.
If the laptop already has a PCMCIA driver installed the wizard won't be triggered. Have you checked to see what is currently installed in Device Manager ?
If there is anything there uninstall it and reboot and the wizard will then be triggered as it sees hardware with no drivers.
Are the drivers downloaded zipped ?if so you'll need to unzip the files to a folder before installing . Sorry for stating the obvious but I have no way of knowing your level of IT experience

Why don't you just buy a Netgear WG511 wireless card and install disk for £10.00 on ebay they are simplicity itself to install.

very little info to go on???? wow i thought i gave you as much as humanly possible. I said I went into device manager and tried to install it manually there and I said i ran the install new hardward wizard manually and nothing worked. Y would I go buy something else when I was even this for free. anyway thanks DLB, that link worked it had the full version software I needed to get it installed wonder why 2wire doesnt have it themselves. Thanks again!!!
