pctdf.exe malware problem

I have seen a few posts on this problem here in the forums, but the fix seems to be with a personalized touch. So do I try to fix it by reading the forums or just post my problem here?
A friend of mine that is one step below my computer skill level which is 1 LOL asked me for some help.
PROBLEM: That stupid file alert (pctdf.exe) comes up at computer startup and also get "can not find C:\windows\userint32.exe
Can not use microsoft Internet Explorer to look at my email, I get the unsafe popup stuff that everyone is reporting.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

Thanks guys but after screwing around i just desided it would be easy to start over fresh with a complete reinstall.
