PCTel Platinum V.90 Modem updates

I need to update my PCTel modem driver, are there any good updates that wont screw my compaq computer up?

 

I am looking for an update also as Microsoft has said that my current modem driver will not work with Windows XP

 

It seems conexant.com is supposed to be providing support for the pctel modems now, but I can't seem to access their support pages. Here's the link to their pctel pages, I can only hope that helps. If not read the sticky thread at the beginning of the drivers forums there are a list of driver site that might have what you need.

Good luck, ususally when something like this happens it means that the hardware or software in question may be outdated or discontinued by the original manufacturer. If you can't get what you need in the two places I mentioned above then You might be better off buying a new modem. They're not that expensive for a good basic voice/fax/modem. I bought a Broadxent V.92 56k PCI modem for $15
