Hi all - I have a Sony PCV-RX950 and I am trying to swap out one of the optical drives.

    1) I stripped a screw. Anyone have any idea how to get a screw out after it is strippe dlike that?

    2) The PCV-RX950 has a handy little tab in the back to drop one panel so you can access the HDs and memory. Can't for the life of me figure out how to open the other panel (the MOBO side one) - I assume the optical drives have two screws on the other side to I ned to remove.

    Any suggestions?

The Stripped screw, try needle nose pliers, pull while turning screw counter clock wise.
Might also try, after removing the other screws, apply pressure to the drive, pushing or pulling while trying to back out the screw.
If all else fails drill out the screw head.

Opening the other pannel, most cases have screws on the rear of the case, if not ???? try Sony's Web.

Normally the motherboard side does not have screws to remove. Try removing the other side screws and see what happens.

Thank you gentlemen. I used a 12v cordless drill and my second smallest bit (can't remember the size) to drill out the screw.

You were rigth Capn_c - there were no screws on the mobo side. Drive slid out, and I slid the new one in fine and it is all good. The old DVD drive has one screwed up mounting hole, but the other three work ok - I can mount it in a regualr ATX if I re-use the part..

    Thanks for the suggestions.
