Do you use a PDF printer?
Which do you consider is the best for your needs?

Umm...I just save the PDF to thumb drive and take it to Staples.

Win10 has "Microsoft Print to PDF" on board by default. Also a lot of programs already support saving documents as PDF. I don't use any additional 3rd party.

Recently I wrote a txt2pdf converter in pure Batch. It's just for fun though and can't compete with any real software for that purpose ;)

What do you use to export (print) your document, spreadsheet, image, etc. to PDF?
Most office suites include such a feature. But what if you want to export a web page or log file to PDF?

I used PDFCreator for almost 10 years. The one feature that stands out is the ability to export files from different applications to a single PDF document. The latest free version supports PDF, PDF/A, PDF/X, PNG, JPEG, TIFF and TXT. Previous versions also included 'printing' to BMP, PCX, Postscript (PS), Encapsulated Postscript (EPS), PSD, PCL, RAW and SVG.

We've used doPDF ( http://www.dopdf.com/) for years since the old versions of Office and WordPerfect and LibreOffice don't allow saving as pdf files.
You select print and chose dopdf as the printer. You then have the choice to actually print or save the pdf file.

I remember when I first use doPDF.
The setup file was about 1 MB, and it doesn't require Ghostscript.

PDF creator, because you can script it to auto save the files without prompting. I use to print duplicates of tickets from our various locations without user interaction.

That's probably why I selected that (only on my husband's computers) over all the programs I looked at because it doesn't require Ghostscript.

On my computer, for the few times I needed a pdf or an edit, I went to the site https://foxyutils.com/
the items used to be free. I think now they might be paid. The two guys who are the developers are very nice. I think it is either Swedish or Danish. I've emailed them in the past to ask questions.

I'd take a manual that had several different languages and split it into English and other languages. I'd then just save the English portion.

I think I might have used it once or twice to join pdfs into one file.

I'm currently using PDF-XChange Lite from Tracker Software, the publisher of PDF-XChange Viewer & Editor.
The setup file continues to balloon - it went from 13 MB to 32 MB in less than 2 years.

I recently installed Bolt PDF Printer. The setup file is a little over 1 MB. But, it's very basic and contains NCH Software's usual advertising of it's other programs.
