Peculiar browsing problem

Hi. I own a small Cyber cafe with about 10 PCs. The browsing speed is good. Am using a Linksys router in conjunction with a Dlink switch. Problem is when the Modem is started in the mornings it works just fine. At about 5pm in the evening, it practically stops browsing and resumes normal speed sometime around 8pm.After verifying from the Providers that it was not a problem from their service, I started troubleshooting: virus et al. Finally, I stumbled upon a 'solution'. If I switch off the Modem, Router and Switch for 5 to 10 mins and restart, it starts browsing again. how do I resolve this problem? Is it switch related? Its adversely affecting my clientele. THIS HAPPENS EVERYDAY. Its so mysterious to me. Plz help anyone!

 

Have you tried to just power off the switch and see if that fixes the problem? It sounds like one of the devices is overheating. Start eliminating one device at a time.

 

Yes. I'v done that severally but still happens. However, if I power off the modem for a few minutes and reboot, it works just finefor a few minutes then off it goes again.

 

Since you are in a Cafe, are there any pieces of equipment that you start to use at that time of day that are near to your router? Have you tried to change the channel on your router to another channel in case there is interference from something? Are there any businesses close by that could cause interference? When you power off the router does it feel hot to the touch?
