Hi Guys,I've been using Shareza for quite awhile now,my question is do I need Peer Guardian,I just download mp3's. If I need it I would like to know how to install it so that it will work with Shareza. Will it slow my down my downloads or computer,is it safe and how does it work. Need some help on this one.
    Marlene,
    Hugs as always,,,

P2P's and peer guardian ---After going here http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/ it seems as if "they" say it does not effect your dl times butt.....

I ran kazza b4 it was cool same with winMX then i learned!
Hopefully you are fully protected (anti-viral..spyware..firewall etc..) :)
There are ALOT of nasties out there (music included)
Have you been having problems with you current setup?

I have no problems with my setup,I have all the spy and mal and Adware protection and a firewall, also a good anti virus program. I was just reading the pro's and con's about p2p and peer guardian. Did I read your message wrong, are you saying I do not need peer guardian.
    Marlene,

Sorry that was a quote from them (peer guardian)butt-it seems to me if your that well protected and you scan EVERYTHING you dl then i say you don't need it(PG) ......P2P's are really not a great idea(legal or moral) and one easy way to get an infection!(oh man--I know i'm gonna get flamed for saying that !)

Personally, I don't see the need for Peer Guardian.

Also, anything that diverts or filters your connection can slow it down somewhat, regardless of what their site says.

Read the criticisms on this LINK and that should turn you off it.

    Hugsssss.

Thanks petalumacacraigslist for all your info,I just read that MP3's are not an executable file so they cannot carry any viruses. So I would think that if you only download MP3's there should not be a problem.

I used PeerGuardian in the past it was great but it would slow down my computer not my downloads. I know use Protowall as the PeerGuadian alternative. It didn't slow down my computer as PeerGuardian did so I got stuck with ProtoWall. I would recomend ProtoWall plus you could use PeerGuardians block list with it too.
