Perhaps someone here can help me with a problem that I am having with my small home network. I have two computers, one running XP SP-2, and the other running Win 98 V-2. Since installing SP-2, the XP computer has access to all of the shared files on the win 98 machine, but when I try to access the disk on the XP machine, I get a message "you do not have rights to view this file", I have tried rebuilding the network, I have tried sharing the whole C drive, or just files, I have tried turning off the wondows firewall and rebooting without it, but nothing seems to work. From the other side, the XP computer has full access to the 98 files. I understand that this is a "rights" issue, but I cannot find any place to share anything further and the problem persists. Thanks for any suggestions.

you might want to post this on the networking board. make sure that you have file and printer sharing enabled, and i'm not sure if you have to make your folder(s), set as shared also? i can't get on my xp computer right now, so i can't check it out. are you running any other firewall other than windos sp2?- sos

It shows that I have file and print sharing enabled, and the drive, and the shared folder. I am running McAffee antivirus from AOL, and have a firewalled router, but that's all other than the Microsoft firewall on the XP machine.
