Pen Drive Problem

    Hi I did a stupid thing of leaving my pen drive plugged in when i installed windows onto my computer, thinking it was a HD i accidently formatted it.

    Is there anyway to get the data back without forking out £40 for a program to do it ( i downloaded one and it says the data can be recovered just haven;t got £40 as i'm a student)

    can't seem to get it to work properly just get files with no data

    Make sure when you save them to desktop (the ones it finds) save as a fat1.

    the files are all scrambled when i save to desktop

    The files that it finds that are complete (real name ...not just smybols and junk) ....there should be three ways to save ...no fat , fat1 and fat2 ....are there folders / sections with files in them? and have you tried each format?

    you beauty got everything back thank you very much now is there anyway to format it becuase windows won't recognise it

    Glad you got it back ....make sure you are doing the "safely remove hardware" system to remove the drive whenever you use it ....
    As to formatting ...you have to get a computer to recognize it first .....then you can format it thru disc management.

    i've freed it in rmovable storage in administrator tools but how do i then format if its not an actual disk
