Pen Drives help

Dear frnds i have a 1 GB Memorex pen drive recently purchased Kingston 4 GB pen drive, the problem is they both are not getting detected. My 1 GB drive had a write protect lock so no problem of virus, it is very important for me than 4 GB drive :confused , recently i inserted them in a pentium 4 computer of my frnd from then onwards they have stopped detecting in my system and also other systems. Kingston is in warranty but lost the cover of it so can't send it for exchange. If it shows any message then its ok but no message at all. Plz anybody help me why this happing or is there any write protect pen drive still available which i could purchase

 

It sounds to me like the friend's PC has a USB problem (USB ports have live voltage and too much can fry the flash drives). I strongly recommend that the friend run a voltage check (I recommend using HWMonitor) to see if the motherboard or power supply is pumping out too much juice. The motherboard capacitors should also be checked; if they aren't 100% perfectly flat on top, then they are failing and the motherboard should be replaced. As to fixing your flash drives: sorry You can probably contact a company that specializes in data recovery, but if they aren't recognized on any PCs, then there is basically no way for you to save the data yourself. Does someone still make USB flash drives with write protect? I think so, try SanDisk and/or Toshiba.... good luck! :-D

 

i think ur rite my frnds has some voltage problem, but pen drives with write protect not available its very sad:cry
