Penguin Claus!

VLC the last few days has this little icon -- looks like a penguin in a santa hat to me -- both in the upper left of the player and in the lower right of the taskbar. Are others seeing this?

I get the normal traffic pylon for the app itself and any shortcuts pointing to same. It's only in the player and the taskbar that Penguin Claus rears his ugly beak.

Is this a virus or something they themselves triggered somehow?

I have 1.0.3, btw.

i too think it's cute actually. how do i get AT it (to blow up for a better look)?

a normal icon i could find thru right clicking. but this think INSIDE the program -- is that "represented" anywhere obvious?

 

i think the op means to see it larger, cause it's real small... not to look at why it's there, just to see it better

 

to get a better look at it, go to vlc's help/about section. it's just the cone with a santa hat.
