Why people still use Internet Explorer is beyond me.

While im not surprised, what is going to happen when firefox and others are the major browers, and hackers target them to get at our systems? I kinda like being part of a small minority that has firefox. There really is no reason a hacker would try and sabatage firefox, when IE is way up there.

Isn't it true that IE interacts with the OS at a very low level, lower than FireFox, so that it is inherently more insecure?

Also, who would you rather trust for secure code? A limited number of people who are being paid to program the app, without it being evaluated at the source level by independent peers, or a world full of passionate hackers who do it for the prestige, the challenge, the love?

It just goes to show that Open Source software is generally superiour code, in the long run, in my opinion. The more people that use it, the better. More excitement.

Also, it does "take back the web". In the future, if more people use, say, FireFox, or other browsers that respect W3C standards, then that will pressure lamer webmasters to adhere closer to the standards themselves?

It's good for the InterNet, me thinks...
