I have a Pentium D 820 (2.80 GHz) right now. It runs pretty hot and I have to turn the CPU fan (Zalman 9000) up all the way, which also makes it very loud. I got it at a great price when it came out so I didn't really waste money on it. Anyways, I'm looking to get a Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8GHz). I read reviews about it and they say that it runs pretty fast compared to the Pentium D. I want to know if any of you have the E4300 and how it runs. Is it pretty cool and quiet? I play a few games (mainly Need For Speed). How do the games run on it? I'm only concerned because the speed is 1GHz less than what I have now, and the FSB's on both processors are 800. I do a lot of video and picture editing so I don't want to have to step down.
