I never liked Steve Gibson much as he's more hype than anything these days, but it is a good thing to do on your sensitive files, which I don't keep on my system anyways.

 

the best password is to take the initial letters of a random phrase. (ie' Mary Had A Little Lamb) this can be converted to numbers using the phone dial method or sequential (ie; A=1)


just to prove this.....i want everyone to write down the first random phrase that springs to mind

 

Need to throw in some extended ascii in the mix, which would require one to use the ALT key + the num pad for some of them.

I had one 5 years ago, that was 16 characters long, but required about 30+ keystrokes to use. It was a pain to use on laptops (using the alt + function + num).

 

I got bored in science once and made my own version of l337. Its pretty simple but us hard to crack without automated aid. for example my msn password; is password-but in my own code it is 9^55v0r)

I best change my password soon now lol
