Are there any known issues with performance (quality) degradation when using mouse/monitor/keyboard extension cables? I can't see any problems being likely with a keyboard, but how about mouse responsiveness and picture quality for the monitor?

as far as the mouse is concerned, if you need extention cable I would go with a cordless like the logitech MX1000 ... if you can afford it

I knew someone would suggest cordless. I must admit to being biased against cordless. I don't like the idea of lag, interference, whatever when gaming, pointing etc. Am I just being paranoid/crazy? I like things basic. Less things to break, the better.

Shouldn't make any noticable difference, unless your cord is like 100+ feet long...
