I have a computer here at work that reboots every 10 minutes it seems. can a failing hard drive cause that? i swapped the hard drive that was in the original computer that was having problems, to a different computer that didnt have that issue, and the problem continued.

More likely power supply, i had to replace my motherboard just on friday, very similar issues, but friday it quit booting up at all, ended up being the powersupply, which took out the motherboard. I would start there.

thats what i was thinking at first, but when i swapped hard drives into a computer that i knew worked, it still had the same problem.

I figured this out a while ago, and it just happened to me again which prompted me coming back to this thread. Apparently there is an option in My Computer advanced properties that says 'Automatically reboot' on system failure.

    Right click My Computer
    Properties
    Advanced tab
    System and Recovery Settings
Uncheck the Automatically Reboot check box under System Failure.

This seemed to work for me just now.
