Perl problems

Alright here is the problem. I wrote some programs in my one class in PERL, when I went to hand them in my professor complained that she needed executables that will run in windows. I wrote it on the universities Linux server and she doesn't feel like walking down the hall to see them run, she NEEDS the windows executable. My question, is there a program around that will enable me to turn my PERL scripts into Windows Executables that is either relatively cheap, or is free?

 

Perl is not, for the most part at least, compiled into executable files on any platform. I believe it goes through a pre-execution kind of compilation the first time it is run and any time it is changed and then run, but other than that it is interpreted.

If your teacher is too lazy to log onto a linux box (even remotely with telnet/ssh?) then there are Windows Perl Interpreters... I use ActiveState ActivePerl as a command line version. It works almost the same as on Linux.

A google on this will probably find it fairly easily, but it'll need installing and possibly some environment variable configuration unless you copy your .pl/.pm files into the ActivePerl directory.

 

Yeah she is to lazy to even SSH into the CS Linux server. As I said I know that PERL isn't meant to be run in this fashion, and I was hoping that there was something I could do to make it run on her end without her having to install anything, that’s my real target after all. I don't know, I guess I may have to toss it over into C++ and rewrite most of it. Thanks for the reply though and if anyone else has anything that would help I would greatly appreciate it.
