We've moved and my network setup changed.

Old network was WinXP with DSL, Win2K connected to XP through Hub. W2K used internet through XP's ICS.

New "network" is W2K by itself (kids' games are on that one, XP is in storage for a few months while we build our house). I log in as administrator but when I try to establish a dial-up internet connection (neither dsl nor cable is available), I get a message that I don't have permission to do that, that I need to contact the network admin--that's me, by the way.

Do I need to get the other computer set up and hooked back up to W2K to get permission to do that?

    Got an answer!

When I typed the entire error message (which I couldn't remember yesterday but wrote down last night) into Google this morning, microsoft support had the answer. IT's a modification that occurs when the installation of IE is modified using MS I'net Exp. Admin. Kit to disable the I'net Connection Wizard functionality. I don't remember doing that, it probably happened when I used the ICS utility in XP at the old house. The fix is a registry edit.

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAH!
