What do you think of this program? I recently ran the free version that locates junk on your computer and it found numerous items that ad-aware and spybot s&d missed... so I was tempted to shell out for the full version. Anyone have experience with this program either good or bad?

dewback, I love PestPatrol,:) but being a cheapskate I manually delete the stuff  from the Registry that PestPatrol finds. Always make a backup before you stuff around with the Registry. You learn about your Registry :D when you manually edit it, but be very careful. :p Bazza

If you can afford it, buy it. It simplifies doing any corrections. If you can't afford it, learn to edit your Registry by other means, or other programs, but run it anyhow as it is another check of your Registry. Different programs find different errors carrying out the same task. Bazza

Thanks for the response bigbazza... I decided to go ahead and purchase it because I do not have experience with editing the registry and it found 493 entries on one machine. It did delete them all! The majority (about 478) were from gamespy arcade and the rest (15) from kazza lite which I though was supposed to be spyware/addware free? Anyway when I deleted them kazza no longer works.... oh well didn't much use it anymore anyway. I leave pest patrol running in the background and it has an option to turn on mem check and cookie patrol as well. Are these additional services worth leaving on or not? I assume if they were necessary they would be on by default.

dewback, I don't run PestPatrol in the backgound whilst on the net. I only run PP when I logoff as part of my housekeeping. I use other programs to free up memory and delete cookies, etc., so cannot comment on running PP in the background. Other MG 'ers feel free to put in your 2 cents worth. Like you, I thought kazza lite was free of nasties. It used to be , I think. Maybe un-install it, then re-install it, and run PP again to be doubly sure.
