PestPatrol online scan for spyware

Hello I'm new here, so forgive me if this question has already been discussed. I searched the forums but could not find anything. I downloaded Ad-aware, Spybot, Spyware blaster and Bazooka, and thought I had rid my computer of malware until I did an online test with PestPatrol, which indicated that I have Ezula spyware on my machine. Neither Spybot nor Adaware is showing this, so I'm wondering if Pest Patrol is right. The only thing Adaware is picking up are negligible MRUs, which I quarantine and delete, but they keep showing up again on the next scan. Could the negligible MRUs be Ezula? Or did PestPatrol show fake infection just to get me to buy their spyware removal tool? My machine is working well (knock on wood) but I would prefer not to have Ezula on it if it is really there. Any comments appreciated.

IMO, most if not all those online scans are a scam (ineffective at the very least). I don't believe spyware scanner developing companies would actually offer a free online scan without a catch...besides opening your system 100% to a website (a legit scanner or not) with no way to see what they are accessing, extracting or even collecting freaks me out big time. Some might disagree but I would never trust an online scanner more than I'd trust a locally installed and up-to-date scanner run in 'Safe Mode'.

PS. It is very common for online scanners to fake infection to get the gullible people to purchase. TO be certain, check your 'Add-Remove Programs' list as suggested by 'needasmoke', if it looks clean, check your IE plug-ins on IE > Tools > Internet Options > General > Settings > View Objects and also on the 'Programs' tab on SP2 there is a new feature called 'Manage your IE plug-ins' or something like that which would allow you to enable/disable/remove IE BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) as well.
    ;)

I don't trust them either, but some of them are probably legit.I often wonder if the folks offering these services, are the same folks who are putting the crap out there in the first place.A constant money making loop. Most problems can be googled and fixes or removal tools found.

Thanks 'needasmoke' and Turcoloco for the replys, they're very helpful. Guess I'm a bit naive but I thought PestPatrol was supposed to be somewhat OK. Should I assume the same thing applies to online VIRUS scans too? Yikes!
But if I could go back to my question about the MRUs picked-up by Ad-aware, what are those MRUs anyway?
