I had a pet peeve once. My grandma gave it to me. I loved that little thing, But it wandered out in the road one day and got ran over by someone's wild idea.

I see that all the time. Its a pet peeve of mine too. So, I ignore them, and watch them flop about for a while like a fish out of the water ;)

You can't ask for help then reject the help you get. It doesn't solve anything.

Oh Paleeze Jeremy..don't you know that those that offer assistance are suppose to be mind readers or at the very least have the ability to mentally transport themselves to the puter in question so you can "see" what the software/hardware issue is to begin with so the user doesn't have to provide the necessary information? Sheesh...where you been?

    ROFL..that reminds me.

Many times working support calls with customers (walking them through proecedures) I would get this indredulous response of, "Wow, how can you see whats on my screen?!" I'd hear that at least four times a week. People honestly thought I was logging into their system ;)

I`ve a pet peeve that scrunches my shorts up so tight that my voice rises three octaves...but not wanting to hijack this particular thread...when I`m in a good enough mood not to ruin my entire day I`ll start a new thread. :) ;) :D

    @Sasquatch77,

Go for it. As the thread was entitled pet peeve, another peeve shouldn't cause problems, pet or not!:)

You mean to tell me that it is not someone from MG making all those funny pop-ups show up on my computer? Well I'll be dipped in pancake batter and fried to a golden brown and sprinkled with 10x sugar and smothered in velvety smooth chocolate sau.....umm, yeah. Sorry about that.:p

(dont really have pop-ups on my computer)

Kind of a pet peeve, take a half an hour googling for an answer for someones question, come back to the forum, and find that one of the "already knew it without googling" types already answered it. Good for me though, I learn a lot. Occasionally I even get the chance to give someone good help.:D Kind of like what was given to me when I first came here.:)

OK...if you insist. I get so pi**ed off at people and politicians that "go with the flow" when there is a national or international dilemna...but when the media decides it`s time to bust on the people making the decisions, now it`s time to deny what they were preaching before. It`s not just enough for these two-faced idiots to announce thier opposition to decisions made by LEGALLY elected officials...it seems that it also behooves them to LIE about how they voted or opined about previous decisions made by the aforementioned LEGALLY elected officials. My biggest bi**h is the way that people like Hillary Cli....er...oops didn`t mean to mention anyone....can be so swayed by the MEDIA....without really listening to thier constituents...but then of course carpet-baggers have a long history....er....I don`t mean to be a name-caller....it just seems to me that if the news media was actually truthful across the board...and I won`t say that one outlet is fairer or more truthful than the next...then perhaps the people that vote for thier elected officials would have a REAL say on what`s happening. Another thing that freezes my agates...and I`ve mentioned this before...why on Earth is a person that was born and raised in Arkansas...a state with a horrible track record in the way it treats it`s working folk...allowed to run for senate in NY????????Allow me...the media said it/she would do a good job and the populace ate it up. This in a state that`s been ruined by the Democratic Mario Cuomo`s tax and spend policies(like Arkansas)driving business out of business. I have a good friend that busted his a** for 22 years in a plant in Buffalo that lost his job to NAFTA...which I might point out...was an act that a Democratic-controlled congress shoved down us tax-payers throats...and the consequences are still, and will be...felt for a long time. I `m sorry I got so long winded...my pet peeve is the sensationalist media...media...media...media

When you are sitting in the office minding your own business and suddenly you get the overwhelming smell of popcorn permeating all of your orifices. Then, when you cannot take it anymore and go looking for the purveyor of odoriferous emanations, you cannot find them.

Brand new pet peeve. I'm back on the trunk build of Firefox, since 1.5 got officially released...though, I hear that 1.5.1 is around the corner.

I just received (automatically) and update for the trunk on Firefox. Now ALL links that I just visted here are in BOLD, including the ones I replied to.

Another pet peeve, is stopping at a stop light in my car, and having to hear the guy next to me play his music (tyipcally rap) extremely loud. Even with my windows up I can still hear it.. I sometimes retaliate by playing clasicall music, jazz, or blues extremely loud (I have a car system that is quite adequte for this "attack" :) ).

Oh boy..started typing and got carried away.

    Forum related (Not just MG's)

    - People who say they have been lurking for a long time, finally register and immediately post an image or link to porn for our *cough* viewing pleasure. *gag*

    - People who create multiple ID's and think we're to stupid to notice:rolleyes:

    - People who sign up just to spam, ie: pyramid schemes, free ipods & the like along with those who sign up just to post links to "their" forum. This is done in threads & PM's.

    - People who think it's 'cute' to have an avatar or profile picture (animated or static) of a naked women (most common..have only pulled naked men 2 times IIRC) or (usually animated) a very explicit sexual act in progress.

    - People who sign up and think all their computer issues should be handled via PM's or IM's and get ticked when you politely explain the benefits of actually starting a thread.

I have to admit that when encountering some of the above it is irritating but I do often get a good laugh when dealing with it (Poof) so I guess maybe I should thank the member?;):D

    In daily life:

    - Parents who allow their small children to stand on the frame of a shopping cart and then are dumbfounded when their child slips and knocks out a few teeth or puts some gashes in their face.

    - People who throw trash out their car windows or empty their ashtrays in parking lots. Is it really SO difficult to hang on to your McDonald's trash until you get home or use the trash cans that are in front of stores, etc.?

    - People that are arrogant, conceited & judgemental...can't stand to even be in the same room with them..gives me the creeps.

    - People that are prejudice and can't be bothered to look beyond someones skin color.

    - Parents who let their kids run wild in stores screaming & yelling, knocking stuff off shelves and nearly knocking people over (usually elderly) or when at the beach they are laying their working on their tans while 30yds.or more away their children (2- 4 yrs. old) are playing in the surf unsupervised. Hello? Rip-tides, crashing waves that cause a child (and some adults) to tumble over and over in the water and get hurt or worse, drown. This is not only a pet peeve but scares the bejebbers out of me...I end up spending my time at the beach stressed out and watching to make sure the kids are ok even though I have no idea 'who' they are.

coupla pet peeves.........People (educators mostly) who spell it 'your" when they mean "you're" and "their" when they mean "there" or vice versa. I might add that, because of those pet peeves, I am more peeved at myself when I do that than I am with other people.
