pf usage in windows taks manager

    Hello all I have recently noticed that my laptop has slowed down so I did the c cleaner and the virus scan and nothing found there but recent also noticed that the pf usage in the task manager is 536 mb I dont remember it being that high before what should be the next step for me to do? Thanks for any help.


    Laptop- compaq presario
    os- xpsp3
    1.25 ram
    1.7 gh processor
