I'm getting a new computer this summer and I know what I'm going to get already, but I just want to ask why Intel moved from the old pin grid array over to using land grid array. Is there some sort of advantage that land grid array gives over pin grid array?

It's not going to change my decision about what parts I'm going to get. I'm just curious.

not quite sure of the answer, but i will say, the LGA cpu is very snug on my mobo, so no concerns about that...don't have to worry about bent/broken pins any more i guess.

Hmm, I was thinking more of a it's not as easy to fry with static cause there aren't any electronic parts sticking out, but I guess that's a good reason too.
