Phone not recognized

    My smart phone (Samsung wave 2 8530) has always been recognized by my PC but all of a sudden it says it is 'unknown device'
    I have tried to get it recognized from device manager and add a device but nothing seems to work.
    I have not installed or deleted any progs or applications.
    any ideas please
