Phoshop Class For Gimp?

If you go to school and get certification in Photoshop and you know it really well and really good and it, but later use Gimp, because of the high cost of photoshop would much of what you learn in phoshop be worthless? How hard would it be to go from photoshop to using gimp?

If there where a school that would teach Gimp well I would join. But all the schools teach photoshop.

Could you take photoshop class to help learning gimp or is it really different how you do things that you will get confused and have to learn the difference.

It seem with phoshop there is monthly subscription now and you cannot buy it any more. And at time it was over 1,000,00

 

There's a big difference between using Photoshop and using Gimp. I would not spend money on learning Photoshop when I intend to use Gimp.
