To be honest, I'm not really sure if this is supposed to be in software or hardware, but I'm really just desperate for help. I'm not that much of a computer wiz, not at all, really. I recently, and entirely accidentally, deleted something from my computer. The thing that lets me click and view pictures in the folders, and the same thing that lets me create a slideshow as my own screensaver. All my pictures are there, and I can still see them, but I can't click on them to view them in a larger size. I have absolutely no idea what it was that I deleted, or how I even managed to delete it in the first place, which is actually pretty stupid, I know. Does anyone know what it is I'm talking about, and whether or not I can restore it so that it can all go back to normal?

Click on Start > Run > then type regsvr32 shimgvw.dll then hit OK.

See if that fixes the issue.

It said uh... "the module was loaded but the entry point dllregisterserver was not found"

Are you using Windows XP or Windows Vista?

What happens when you double-click the photos?

    Windows Vista.

Sometimes, it just does nothing, other times, a window pops up that says an error has occured and that it'll be shutting down.

That's not good. What was it that you deleted before?

Try going to the Control Panel and select Folder Options, click on the View tab and under Advanced settings look for and "uncheck" Always show icons, never thumbnails.

    See if that changes anything.

I have no idea what I deleted in the first place. I downloaded one thing for pictures, and then when I went to delete that thing again, I clicked and deleted the wrong thing, but whatever I deleted had something to do with my pictures. It was all a big messy accident, really, and now that I have no idea what I did, I don't know what to fix or how to fix it.

I can't find the folder options, though. It's all set up strangely.

Whoops, my bad, I found it. It was already unchecked though.

    OK.

You need to close everything before you do the steps below. Maybe you can restore your system to before you deleted these things.

Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > click on the Continue button

You should be given two options, Recommended restore and Choose a different restore point.

Try Choose a different restore point and see if you see a date to go back to before you deleted the stuff.

Okay, wow, thanks so much. That worked. If it were at all possible to send hugs through the internet, you would definately get the biggest one in the history of cyber hugs!

    Thank you!!
