Alright, my laptop was having issues (recently discovered both sticks of RAM were bad) so I did a backup of my (C:) Drive before wiping the computer clean and reinstalling Vista.

So now, whenever I try to view my restored photos, it tells me I do not have the permission to view any of them. I can view them on my external drive, just not my laptops hard drive.

I have also check the security tab, made sure I was the Owner, that I had full control, etc, and yet none of the pictures are viewable, even when I transfer them straight from my external.

Oh, well....I sort of got it figured out. I had to move the recovered files to my external (basically, it was just F:\Pictures) and then I had to delete the Pictures folder on my laptop's hard drive, then move the one on the external back over.

and with the Permissions, I was listed as the owner, and the only usergroups were System, Admins, and me...and they all had check marks in each box, so that was why I was confused.

Oh well, since I got them working, I suppose it doesn't matter anymore. Thanks anyway, though!
