Photo problems.

    I have a Fuji FinePix A202 Digital camera. Camera works Ok and so does the software.
    But this morning I tried to look at some fotos on a CD I made last November and the following message came up:

    You are attempting to open a file of type "(.DAT) These files are used by the operating system and by various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system. If you still want to open the file, click Open With, otherwise, click Cancel.

    I have made Cd-s since last November and I can view these fine.
    Any ideas anyone?

    I'm running Windows Me.

    Did'nt work.

    OK. I tried that. I've tried different programs, FinePixViewer, WMP, Quicktime, etc...
    but none work. WMP says something about not being able to stream. And I-ve just tried FinePixViewer and this appears:

    "ITEM0001.DAT" is broken or not in the usable format."

    ITEM0001 is the first foto on the CD but the same message appears whichever foto I select.

    Any suggestions?. Thanks in advance.

    kinda sounds like you have those pictures burned to a VCD slideshow disk ( nero can do those.. so would you have used Nero? ) to allow you to play it in some DVDs ( watch on TV )

    sorry no suggestion as yet apart from you need to be able to play VCDs on your PC possibly then use a screen capture app like HyperSnap.... thats if that is a VCD disk.. pop it in your standalone dvd and see if it shows on screen?

    I have had enought of photos & PCs today to last me a lifetime.. so heads not 100% ( had to work a Bank Holiday ) :(
