I recently received some photos via email (I use Thunderbird) the photos are to large to view and they take up a lot of space on the drive.

Is there a simple way to reduce them...I tried using Amazing Photo Editor but wasn't successful

Great piece of freeware here that will do it http://www.majorgeeks.com/PicSizer_d5046.html

Just tap in the width you want...and it auto resizes the lenth in proportion. I usually use 500 as a general rule to retain quality of the photo still.

I haven't tried the one Lev suggested but I find IrfanView does a good job of reducing the file size without noticable quality loss. It isn't that tricky to use either, as long as you read the Help for things you don't work out just by looking and can be used to make screensavers from your pictures. The one Lev suggested might do that too, I don't know.
