While this is an art related problem, it deals more with a technical problem I have with Photoshop 7.0

Recently, I've been scanning in some inked works of art and started coloring them. Here's the problem: When it comes time to save them, I go to "save for web". When I save, however, my colors become unsaturated and drab. Switching from sRGB to Adobe RGB and back does nothing. The only thing I've noticed is that in the "Save For Web" screen there is a button I can press that gives me four options:
    uncompensated color
    standard windows color
    standard macintosh color
    use document color profile

The drab and unsaturated versions I get when I save look identical to "uncompensated" color. When I select any of the other colors, the preview shows what I want the works to look like, but when I save it it ends up looking like "uncompensated color", reguardless of what the preview TOLD me it would look like. Any help would be appreciated.
