Hey ya'll.
My latest project has been teaching myself php. Not too shabby - I'm trying to help my friend out who runs a website where they sell server space. He wants me to create a place where new customers can be added and choose pricing packages. I just need suggestions. I'm fairly new at this and I have yet been able to find a really good tutorial. Any help would be appreciated!

www.programmersheaven.com and www.planet-source-code.net go to those two places and study the source code their. the best way to learn is by example. there are also many scripts that will do what your looking for there.

 

Well, I'm half way into the implementation of such a application.

It's complicated, I'll say that.

For free space, its not too bad. However when you start offering domains is when it gets sticky.

Stuff you wanna think about :
DNS hostfile editing
Altering webserver settings for specific host headers
learn how to use .htaccess or your web-server's equivilant
Learn how to use a ftp server from php (creating usernames etc.)
Learn how to make a file uploader (essential)
Learn how to use SQL and a database application WELL.
Get to grips with online payment
Make a decent user profile database structure which you can buy multiple sets of webspace.
Learn how to set disk-quotas for specific users
If youre using Linux, learn how to make new user accounts from a PHP script.

I'm afraid I can't release any source code, but those are somthing things that have cropped up during development.
