Pi## on XP

I really hope some one here can help me. I just built my first PC and it works great. Im only having one problem. When i load the utilitys that msi gives with tere mobo's it installs on all the users?? I only want myself to be able to use these. Is there a way to do this????? They are starting at login and i cant seem to stop it from doing this unless i remove them. My system consists of (Msi k8n neo2 w/agp amd 3700+ 250g-sata seagate) More to come. but i want to get this taken care of first.

 

Are applications loading on startup within all user accounts?

If so, check out:

c:\documents and settings\all users\Start Menu\programs\startup\

remove what you do not want here.
c:\documents and settings\all users\desktop
remove what you will..

There are a few other places to look in the registry, but if the above points you in the right direction....then you won't have to access the registry.

 

I've alredy done the folder remove thing, but Live Update does not remove and it still auto starts. As far as the registry is concerend-I dont feel safe doing that unless sombody actually walks me through it.

 

Look in these registry keys for things that start as Windows comes alive:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
