    Hey ya'll...

I've been working on a directory with addresses and pictures but I'm stuck. I laid out all the pictures in a Word doc but then I realized that it would be really hard to change (and it WILL change often). So I tried moving everything over into tables in Word but then if I want to delete someone or add someone it's not workin out too well for me. I tried to attach a part of the file with pics and random text so you could see what I mean but it's too large to post on here. I just want to be able to add additional pics in between others without having to move everything individually.

Hmm, I'm online on AIM till all night tonight cause of work so if you can help post a message here or give me a holla. Then maybe I can send you the file so you see what I mean...

    Thanks...

Tried to contact you on AIM..no go..so
If you hilite a row and right click, you should be able to "add new row" to the table. You can do the same with removing a row.

sorry, didn't see your message blinking. i know how to add rows and columns...what I'm trying to figure out is how to delete a cell and have all the other cells move with it so that there is no blank space. And I want it to do the same if I add a cell in the midst of all of 'em.

if you place your cursor just off to the left of the page margin so the cursor arrow points inward toward the table, then click, it will hilite the entire row. Simply right click on the hitlited area and choose "delete rows". That should remove the selected row and any white space. Hitting DEL key will not work. That only deletes the row content. You do the same thing for adding a row with the only difference being you choose "insert rows" instead.

But I don't want to delete the whole row...just a single cell. I have 4 cells on each row and when a person leaves I have to delete their picture so it's just one cell I have to delete. Does any of this make sense?

Yeah, that's a little tricky because of the way tables work. You can merge cells, but then that will leave you with one big cell next to two smaller cells. If that's ok with you, then that's your option. If you needed to add a pic in next to that merged cell, you can split the cell.
