is there a good download to edit pictures on this site or anywhere?

i primarily just want to be able to brighten some and be able to save them in their new brightened state.

    ?

You bet. There's a great free one right here on MG. IrfanView lets you do lots of things to pics including color reduction, redeye reduction, resizing, file type conversion (jpg to png, for example) and so on and so forth.

yeah...what he said. I've been using this proggie instead of photoshop 7 for awhile now and it is amazing what this little job can do. :D

I downloaded this on someone else's computer so I can't remember but...
After you download the program, don't you have to go to the website and get some "extensions" or something also? Whatever it is, it's important and it doesn't come with the download here (at least not when I did it)

You can get the plugin package here. (It's in the left hand box.)
I reccommend using the alternate download sites listed in red below the Tucows site (the first listed). If you have ZArc or one of the other zip applications or XP, use the zipped file download, it's faster than the other d/l.
