picture sizing

I have a digital camera which I use a lot, as does a female friend of mine. Problem (so to speak) is how do I size them down to use on the web? It seems as though I'm always getting messages that my "file is too big" to use on sites and such. What's a good way to size them critters down so I can use them on the web?

Thanks, robo, that looks cool. I have tried using adobe photoshop and others that I have bought, but unless I spend a few weeks in training to figure it out, I can't.

resizing

I use paintshop pro. This program is very detailed but once you learn how to use it it is easy. All I do is open the picture in paintshop pro then click on image then resize. This program allows you to resize by percent of original, by pixels, or by inches. You can tell the size of the picture by clicking properties.

 

I use PIXresizer for my rapid size changes. Almost no learning curve!
