picture viewing

i have Win98

when i have images that are saved in a particular folder, and i double click them to open, they open in an IE browser.
how do i chage that so they open somewhere else?
i only use Firefox for my web browser. is there a way to set up where picture open in the Firefox browser?
i also do have IrfanView, where i can open and then open up whatever picture ..but i want to be able to click on a picture and not have it open with IE.

 

if you don't get your answer here, try in the firefox forum @ mozilla, if someone there cant help ya, it might not be possible.
