I look all over the Internet for how to Inset the Pie Symbol in Libre Office.

I see how to Insert a lot but I can not find the Pie Libre Office.

Can anybody help and tell me where it is in Libre Office?

I'm a retired math(s) teacher so it really annoys me when you substitute pie for pi!!!!
I assume you mean Pi. The 16th symbol in the Greek alphabet.
    π

    1. Num lock on
    2. Hold down the alt key
    3. press 2 2 7

This works in LibreOffice Writer and also in forums.

That works on keyboards that have a numeric keypad and a NumLock key. It won't work on most laptops.

I've been playing with the OSK on my laptop but no joy so far. Can't do it just using the keyboard.

On a laptop, with no separate number pad you need to be sure to press something like function F11 to turn on num lock.
Then you hold down the alt and press K (which is 2) K and 7 (which is 7).

I'll fire up my laptop and show you.

Lets see if I can do this before the tiny edit window closes.

π Worked just as described above.

Yeah, I saw that stuff yesterday evening but it isn't applicable to Thinkpads, and the Lenovo suggested workaround to use the OSK to get access to NumLock doesn't work for inserting special characters either. Not important though. I used to use this stuff a lot and created my own table of useful special character codes, like Alt 171, Alt 172 and Alt 243 but of course all that stuff is easily found these days.

    I see what you mean.

I never saw a keyboard that lacking a number keypad did not have numbers printed on keys: M J K L U I O 7 8 9 that correspond to zero through nine.
