Piece Of Crap "driver Downloader"

No one speaks English, took 5 tries to get the "tech" to understand my email address. Then one tech said I needed a certain program to go along with Driver Download, and it only costs $199.00. I have already put in my refund request on the $29.95 for the program. MY PROBLEM IS THIS: The program deleted many of my drivers but said it could not find replacements. Where can I find a list of my drivers? Also, it took away my sound, now have no volume or sound at all. Thanking you geeks in advance for any help. (Vista user)

You don't say the actual name of the driver program you used, so we can't comment on that.
But there are good, reliable driver updater programs hosted on MG that work very well. And they are FREE.
There is no driver updater or system maintenance program that costs money, that is better than a reputable free program. So that's a lesson to learn. Never ever pay for any kind of system maintenance program - stick to tried and tested freeware.
Good driver updater programs automatically include a back up FIRST.
And a user should ALWAYS create a system restore point FIRST.

Yeah Driver Downloader is the worst one out there.

I never had an issue with Iobit's Driver Booster.

You will have to select your Os 64 bit or 32 bit versions.

 

On a simple internet search, there is no program with that exact name. When you run that program you paid for it will have its EXACT name.
Where you can get drivers for your exact system model, get them from Toshiba.
If all still doesn't work, or you can't get them from Toshiba, then use either of the programs I linked to.
If you use the IoBit Driver Booster take GREAT CARE to choose a custom install and uncheck all the crap it tries to get you to download with it.

 

Mx, I downloaded and installed Driver Easy. Followed the directions to a "t". When I click update on one of the outdated drivers, a screen came up telling me I could buy pro version. If I close that window, I go back to my hard drive and some driver folders!

I use Driver Talent and I have never had that problem. It updates drivers even without paying for its Pro version.

Looking at the comparison chart between Driver Easy free version with its pro version, it will allow you to update each driver one by one but it's slower and more complex.

What about Dumo? It can scan his computer for driver updates for free and then all he would have to do would be to go to the manufacturer website and download the driver.

On a side note. I have had good luck with Driver Booster from IObit in the past. You may give that one a try.

 

DUMO is good but much more complicated finding the correct new driver.
Apart from IoBit Uninstaller, I don't use any other IoBit program as it makes it much harder than other developers to avoid all their other crap software and it nags you constantly to install stuff.
Driver Talent is, in my experience on many systems and people I help, second to none. More importantly though, it is the only program of its kind that actually tells the user not to update any driver that is currently working ok. No other program does that. It also always asks you to allow it to back up each individual driver so that you can go back without a System Restore point. Another feature lacking elsewhere.
