Ping reply???

  1. Hi folks,

I went to grc.com and did a few port scans. Kerio passed everything except Ping Reply, it failed. I'm just wondering if this is normal, and if not, how to fix it.

Hm, thats strange. Very strange. But dont let grc.com scare you  it has that effect. How do you connect to the internet? dial up or dsl? if dsl, router? pings are used for games and such like (well, to an extent anyway) it basically means that if someone types ping your.ip then it will reply, indicating that there is a computer there. It shouldnt be a problem.

You can set up a rule for it in Kerio, but im not experienced with Kerio so ill let someone else answer that one if you need to

  3. Thanks Goldfish,

I figured that much. The thing that bugs me is that I've done these tests before and I don't recall ever getting this. BTW, I'm on a cable connection

Just came back from Symantecs, and they gave me the same story. Tried finding a way to fix this on my firewall, but still comes out the same.

P.S. I'm running 98, with Kerio 2.1.4(I know. I tried the new ones like ZA, Sygate, and Outpost but didn't like them.
