Pioneer DVDRW Drive not working DVR-K16

I am having the same problem that caestu2000 is having. I see the post from USMCOTH with the tech note. I am running windows XP, with SP3. I am a novice, so please let me know what can I do to make my drive work.

TECH NOTE: For Windows XP users the dual layer DVD driver (pre-SP2) worked for both layers of the DVR-K16 drive, however, post SP2 the CD layer typically did not work for most. Likewise users who have earlier versions the Pioneer DVR-K16 firmware upgrade tool does not recognize the drive and therefore does not permit flashing the bios as in the drive listed below (This is a Microsoft driver issue not a drive issue).

Please also tell us what Windows version and Service Pack you have as it maybe different to the posters in the quotes?
