pioneer dvr-2810 sata to ide problem

    i have a dell dimension 4400, i bought a pioneer dvr-2810 from ebay not realizing it was sata instead of ide. i bought a ide to sata converter and power converter . i have it hooked in but the dvd burner isnt getting recognized by the computer, can someone help me with what i need to do to make this work, all help appreciated.
