I have Win 7, and can't run the old 16-bit pkzip. I want a command line compression tool with encryption capabilities. (pkzip had this). zip/unzip, and gzip from gnu apparently don't have encryption capabilities. Does anyone know of any freeware out there that accomplishes this?

You could try 7-Zip, the help file says it uses "ZipCrypto, AES128, AES192, AES256" and it has a command line version.
