pl help..

OKIE...so here it is..

I have a

1. Laptop with Windows XP SP2, LAN Card, Modem, RJ port and no COM port.
2. Desktop with Windows XP SP2, Modem and RJ port.

I want to access internet on my laptop through the Desktop. Now what do i do...........!!!!

First off to address your notes, both don't apply as your question is valid, in correct forum ( if not we will have moved it to the appropreate one ) and as to standards, everyone is at a different level of knowledge ( or native language ) and thus can express their question the best way they can, you have posted a fair bit of info to get us started IMHO,

and I will kick off with a question or two and a link to some info as Networking is not my strong point.

1. Do you have a router?
2. How you connect to the internet at present, Dialup, USB DSL modem, Ethernet etc? ( or mores to the point your connection speed and service )

Thanks for reply.

1. I dont have a router.
2. I have a Modem that connects to Desktop via Com port. Since i dont have a com port in Laptop , i want to access internet on laptop through dekstop.
