First of all, im an avid Linux and Windows user..so i know what im doing...(most of the time;) )

Heres what i need to do: i want to be able to play music over my LAN from one computer and have it play the music out of another.

I have an old computer that i was thinking of installing SuSe Linux 10 (text-mode only. to save resources.) and then installing something like MPlayer or MPG123. I was then thinking i could SHH or Telnet in and change the playlist when i wanted from MP3 files stored on another computer.

So basicly, i have a computer attatched to my stereo system downstairs and i want to be able to change the music remotely from any computer in my house.

Is this the right approach? What specifics should i know about how to set this up...?? etc.
