Pleasantly pleased with NAV2006

I have to admit, I am very happy with Norton Antivirus 2006. The only reason I even decided to pick it up was because it was cheap ($29) and it was according to this it was one of the best antivirus products out there.

Despite what most people might be thinking, this software runs great on my computer. It doesn't bog my computer down at all. Boot times,computer responsiveness, everything runs fine. (When I did have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on this computer-my computer crawled. But this is NOT true with NAV 2006).

All I am trying to say is NAV2006 is not a bad product IMO. I don't think it's bloatware. It works good for me. I Just thought I would share.

Anyone Else Use this program?

 

Yes, I have the full suite of Norton 2006 products (NAV, NIS, NSW, Ghost, GoBack) and notice no performance issues - came bundled with the computer I purchased at the beginning of this year. However, it may be just the configuration of this computer that allows it to cope with the load.

Note that NIS and NAV are not the same product, one being primarily a firewall and the other primarily an anti-virus, these would be monitoring different things.

 

NIS comes with NAV that's why I included it in the comparasion, most people I think assume this is why it bogs your computer down, that's why I said NIS 2005 (ie NAV2005) bogs my computer down, but not NAV2006.
