please help a computer nerd!!!

i was looking at your page to try and find an answer to a computer problem that i have..I found another person with same problem .....multyplying shortcut icons on desktop..i followed the instructions that were given to that person and got as far as getting a lof from highjack this.......now im stuck with not knowing hpow to deal with it..the advice to other person was NOT to fix but to save the log...can anyone help please

you gave limited info concerning your delema.
my suggestion would be to download and install a couple of anti-spyware/adware programs to scan your computer following prompts to update first once installed.
also the default settings on these programs should do you well.

tytytyty guys!!!i now have loads of safety nets for my computer..I feel safer now............Butttt,in my utter frustration at seemingly being invaded by a whole screen of the multyplying shortcut icons,i rang my server and told them to doooooooooooo someethinggggg before i chucked the said puter outta the window!!!!!! the guy at the other end of the phone just said--""oh yeah..that IS a problem with BT "",,, apparently,when a automatic update thingy from the server pops up for you to clcik to update the NET HELP part of their service,,the invasion CAN happen!!!!!!!!!..... All i had to do was to delete the NET HELP part of the server deal from the add and remove in control panel and then delete all the extra icons from the desktop screen,,being very careful NOT to delete the original ones that i actually needed..He said that the net help want even a nessessity !!!!!!! then after a reboot..hey presto..everything was back to normal....All the virus and scan wear deals that you guys gave worked wonderfully....i am having great fun with the little shredder!!!!!......Maybe if anyone else has the same problem they should ring their server to see if they have a nethelp bit in with their server deal before they start to think that the russians have arrived in force......Once again ,thank you all for helping......Redx
