    Hi,

What operating system are you running right now? How old is the computer? And, how old is the disk? Who makes the disk?

Unless we know more about what is going on, we can't help much. The program is looking for a certain file that is absent. But, WHY that is happening depends on a lot of things.

It looks like a Visual C+ (or C++) problem. MSVC = MicroSoft Visual C. It may also be a problem with Office 2007 (this error doesn't seem to happen with other earlier versions of Office). Try this:
When you put in the CD and it autoplays, close/exit the window. Then open My Computer, right click on the CD drive with the problematic disc, select Open. Now browse the contents looking for either setup.exe or maybe install.exe. When you find it, double click on it. If that doesn't work (it usually does even though it is surprisingly simple), try this: Click Start, click Run, type-
    regsvr32.exe /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\office11\msoxmlmf.dll"
    and then click OK.
Let us know what works (and what doesn't) and we'll go from there....
    Good luck!

Hey DLB, I did the start-Run and searched for: regsvr32.exe /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\office11\msoxmlmf.dll" and it says the specified module could not be found. I also tried the other thing.

I am running office 2007. Windows XP.

I appreciate the help, this is so important to me and I'm so frustrated.

    Hi

Try a repair of Office 2007, to do this say open Word ( can be any of the office apps ) and click the orb, then click Word Options > Resources from the left menu then click Diagnose button by run Microsoft Office Diagnostics ( likely will need the Office disk )

as MarkTrent added above you may need to also try and re-register the dll in question but this time use this line of text to do this

    regsvr32.exe /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\office12\msoxmlmf.dll"

Also try installing MSXML and see if this adds the missing file http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...cf-3bcf-4009-be21-27e85e1857b1&displaylang=en

he said to try and do a search here.

what dlb said there was to type that into the run box (you said you did a search for that). did you do a search for that above, or did you type that into the run box?

and mark trent, from what i've read this is for 2007..

Hey guys, I am on office 2007, I'm trying the diagnostics right now. Maybe I have a old version of 2003 in my comp still, I will delete it right? Nevermind there is no other version of microsoft, just the 2007. I looked in add/remove programs. There are other components that could be related to 2003 but I'm not sure. Diagnostics just came up clean. I will search for that now and change to office12

    regsvr32.exe /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\office12\msoxmlmf.dll"

When I searched for this it says it is not a valid folder

I'll try with 11 instead: Also not a valid folder

I have a rapidshare version of office 2007, does that matter???

Which one of these do you want me to install: I went to your link and there were a few

    msxml6.msi

    msxml6_ia64.msi

    msxml6_SDK.msi

    msxml6_x64.msi

I really appreciate all your help!

Yes it does in a big way as those are warez versions and can be missing many of the components of the real office version, so you may see many errors.

This would be the one I want you to install, but may not help as the version you have of office 2007 my not have all components to allow this to work.

Sorry and sadly knowing you have a none legal version of Office ( as NO version of Office is ever hosted on Rapidshare ) I will need to duck out of this thread, but will aim you to something i didnt know MSFT have going for USA residents in getting the legal version cheaper http://www.theultimatesteal.com/store/msshus/ContentTheme/pbPage.microsoft_office_ultimate

As Halo said, it matters, BIG TIME. Bootlegged software can be tricky if it fails, because it's been Cr@CkeD. And cracked w@R3z usually have missing or modified files. And again, I'm with Halo on ducking out of this, for similar reasons.... As a student, you can purchase a legal full version of Office 2007 Student Edition at a sizable discount. Check with the student book store or on-line with Microsoft. Just do NOT say anything about Rapidshare or related topics....
    Good luck.
