please help asap!

hey all i have done something very stupid/bad

i have deleted a folder of mine containing music
i did this by accident when trying to delete something else
i didn't send it to the recycling bin either
i used shift delete and boom it's now gone!
if theres anyway at all to get this folder of music back please let me know thanks all

 

I think there is a way through DOS, but it is very hard.. I have no idea how.. I think it can be done..

 

oh and since i have talked on MG's for a while i know that the first question ussually asked is what is your operating system

and just to let you all know before you have to ask it's windows XP pro

While you are waiting for expert help, USE your PC as little as possible. DO NOT install new programs or write new stuff as whatever you do may write over the leader of the deleted file. If you can, run whatever program is recommended to retrieve your folder/files from another hard drive, or partition, or floppy if it fits.

Do you have another hard drive, or partition on your existing drive? Bazza
