Please help! Can't get onto any encrypted sites

Hi,

For some reason i decided to try and uninstall AOL from my laptop (wireless connection) yesterday. Someone told me to download smarty uninstaller and to do it through that. They also recommended i uninstalled Norton and got AVG which i did.

Now since i did all these things i no longer can log onto encrypted pages - like online banking, msn, hotmail, amazon.

I've tried reinstalling AOL (from a different disc) and have copied the PFC stuff from the organise folder into the new folder but still have the same problem.

When i try logging onto AOL it is looking for a dial up connection, but i have wireless broadband and it doesn't seem to find that yet i can connect to the net no problems.

Someone please help!
