Here is the problem and what I have found out and steps that I have taken so far. There are 3 computers all hard wired into my network, all running windows XP of some sort. Up untill about 3 weeks ago they all connected to the internet. Then one of them stoped connecting, the network connection is good still, so we ran a ton of antivirus stuff to try and clean it up still no internet. I can go into ipconfig and release, the connection comes up and lets me know it is disconnected, when I renew it lets me know it is back, so I know the connection is good. When I run an ipconfig /all the two computers that are connecting fine come up exactly the same, except the physical location, network card, name and IP address ofcourse. The one that is not connecting comes up total different. What might I try next and can I physicaly change the settings leaving the IP address the same on that computer?? I am loading the gun as I wait.

First off, What is the IP address on the PC not working are you getting 192.168.x.x or a 169.x.x.x or 0.0.0.0

sorry for the delay, it is coming up as 192.168.1.1 the others are on 72.28.8.1 and that is the default gateway, the IP address is 192.168.1.101

In the past, I've had issues with my Linksys when using the stock software. No connect, won't repair connection, no ping thru the adapter, etc. What I finally ended up doing was setting up the router, updated the firmware, after which I put a complete stop to the use of the Linksys software in Windows, allowing XP and the Wireless Zero Configuration do the job. So far, so good, fingers now crossed 'cause I said that...

None of those computers are on the same network?
    you have the 192.168.1 & 72.28.8.1 networks?
No matter what subnet you have you are running 2 networks.
What is the DHCP server? The Linksys? You need to find out where that othe IP range is coming from.
